30 in 30 Challenge
I accepted the challenge of Leslie Saeta to paint/post 30 paintings in 30 days in January 2017. This challenge has been around for a few years. It has involved into a less stressful event than in the beginning. At first the rules were that you had to actually paint 30 paintings in 30 days. This is no small challenge. It now lets you set your own rules but the goal is still the same....paint more. I will attempt to paint and post 30 paintings but if the inevitable life issues get in the way I will post a recent work. I am excited to join this because when you paint daily, your grow as an artist. I will post on Leslie's site, on facebook and on this page. You can follow me as I get into some major brush mileage. Some paintings will be for sale.

I painted this painting the last week of December for Cecilia and Bob Turner. They were married here December 31st. It was a fabulous event. It was my first rooftop view. I snuck in the Desoto Hilton and went to the Harborview Room and took the photos to paint from.
"Water Ways 3"
Evening on Delegal Creek
10" x 10" Oil on wrapped canvas
6" x 6" x 3/4" Original Oil on Panel
Another Water Ways Series. Actually out of sequence. The first one I painted in a workshop demo from my photos. Thanks to my students who coached me through it.
There is a before and after to this painting. The tree in the foreground of the original version (see below) kept bothering me. Although the tree was there I felt like it fought with the Monument which was the main point of interest. So I reworked the painting this week and you can comment if you like on my change on my professional facebook page Paint Savannah. I encourage you to "like" my page . I painted this to show in the new Savannah Art Association Gallery which is located on Chippewa Square and opens Sunday.
NEW PAINTING (REVISITED)
The next two paintings are ones I recently painted. Sunday I went out in the boat and Monday MLK Holiday I spent with my husband on his day off and worked in the yard as well. I will do some paintings this week of our boat trip.
